This is the first time I participated in this challenge and it was kind of hard....or perhaps my wee little brain just doesn't catch on that fast! :-) I did review the tutorial that was posted, which was very helpful, but I had a hard time picking a stamp set to use for this technique and it took me a few minutes of thinking before the light bulb went on...the "ah-ha" moment...when I completely understood reverse embossing!
I decided to use a long retired stamp set for the frames because I really liked that look the best. I'm not moved with the final result of this card and do want to make another sample but it's late and my couch is calling me so sample number two is going to have to wait!
I embossed the frames to help them stand out a bit and I do adore the little monkey faces peeking through the "openings." So...how about the brads...do you think they look like little screws?? This is a technique I learned at a stamping class over the weekend. Maybe it's not a new thing, but it was new to me - faux screws! You insert a brad and using a small flat head screwdriver (on top of the brad) and hammer, tap the top of the screwdriver and ta-da you have a faux screw! How fab is that!!
