I am teaching an ATC class this Saturday, which includes making four different cards. One to demonstrate getting the best image from the photo type stamps, one for wax resist, another for punchinella dusting, and the fourth was vellum butterflies.

Ok, so what kind of aper is this? My photo stamps never turn out well on glossy or anything else I've tried. Or is it the ink?
Details girl, details! I'm so glad you posted these!

Harriet is stamped on matte coat paper - which is not as absorbent as plain white cardstock, and glossy, which has a thicker even less absorbent clay coat. Photo stamps often do well with matte coat paper combined with a dye ink. I've used Ancient Page here, (but as many of you know, Stampin Up! makes a excellent black dye ink that gives sharp images).
Rough or textured paper and gooey pigment inks are probably not going to work well with your photo image stamps - the etching is too shallow, and the pigment ink will just glop over the details.
Harriet's black maribou feather folds around so it fits the ATC size requirements, but looks pretty funny in really life. Definately over the top.
