I can't even begin to explain how Alexa has affected my life...and I've never even met her! All too often in life, we take things for granted, that there will be a tomorrow, that "we'll do it later". Learning about Alexa, and Lauren, and her family, put things into perspective for me BIG TIME.
Alexa is a BEAUTIFUL little girl, her pictures always put a smile on my face. I have followed threads about her treatments, and how she always pushes through without complaint, something no child should ever have to endure, and I am constantly amazed by her resiliance.
When Lauren posted her contest (and strongarmed all of us to participate...just KIDDING!) I couldn't wait to get started! I IMMEDIATELY knew what I wanted to make for Alexa, and her contest. From what I get from Lauren's posts about her attitude toward life and all that is around her, this was perfect. She's a princess alright, but one that is going to take the world on, with spunk, with flair, and with determination.
Alexa, I know that I am a "pretend friend" but know that you will always be a pretty, spunky, funky princess to me!
Ok, so now to the details....
I saw this Green Galore maribou fur and HAD to do something with it. I wanted to go funky, yet still be about a princess (reminds me much of the book "Does a Princess Wear Hiking Boots?")
I used Dots & Dashes Paper from SU!, got the bright pink ribbon from M's. The jewels in the center of the primas were stolen from DD's craft bin. Elements such as Alexa's boots and the "P" are covered in crystal effects, and the word 'princess' is traced over with sakura stardust pen, for a little extra sparkle. The butterfly on the lunch tin is popped up on dimensionals, and details highlighted with stickles.
Thanks for looking!!

Tracey- these are fabulous! My 12 yr. old daughter just saw them and put a huge smile on her face and said "OH MY GOSH!" So, take it from her as well as me- you did an awesome job!!
( I love the tiara for added visual effects!)
