This was created for some friends who just closed on a getaway home at Cape Cod (MA).
I'm not sure how I feel about the end result of this card; I was really excited about the idea when I was getting started! Maybe I've looked at it too long.
When the card is closed, you can see just the three houses through the oval cutout. The way it appears in this photo, you get a glimpse of more of the inside, as it was slightly opened in order to stand it up.
Stamping on the acetate with a roller and StazOn was tricky. The roller was sticking to the acetate and pulling it up as I went along. I used fine point Sharpie markers to color the hollyhocks.
The grass, sand, water and sky were all done with stippling brushes. The straight line of the water was created with a piece of paper, as with a mask. I added a bit more color to the 'grass' with a stiff small paint brush, and I used my white gel pen to add a little bit of wave to the water.
Thanks for looking, and I'd happily welcome any technique or layout suggestions that would help me out if I do a card like this again!
