I was trying to explain making cards for the challenges this morning to my 10 year old. You know the kinds of questions I was getting "Why? What do you win?" etc. Anyway, he seemed to get the gist of it, and asked if he could pick out the theme for today's card. He wanted me to do animals. I said "Oh, but I did an animal yesterday. What if I make a card just for you today?" So he agreed, and the last thing he said before he left for school was, "I can't wait to see my card!"
So what's today's color challenge? Regal Rose and So Saffron! (aided by Certainly Celery and the optional Chocolate Chip) But, as I told my son when I bought him a pink polo shirt 'There's no such thing as 'girl colors' or 'boy colors.' That shirt went on to be one of his favorites, and that inspired this card.
The main image stamp is by Close To My Heart from their 'Dude' set. It looks just like my son, from his spikey hair to his bare feet. The background stamp is by Catslife Press. The main image is colored with Prismas & Gamsol, and the top two layers' side edges are distressed.
PS -- When I picked him up from school today, after a few minutes he said "Did you get the Truman card done?" I passed it back to him, and though I couldn't see his face, I could hear the smile in his voice when he said "That's awesome, Mom! I bet you get so many comments for this." {warm fuzzies!}

What a great card. I have two boys of my own and never know what to do for cards for them. Thanks for the inspiration and reinforcing my confidence in using these colors in my scapbook "boy" pages last Easter. TFS!
