I had created this background paper for another card and decided to use it for my husband's Valentine card. The background is done using brocade blue and by embossing the plaid first in white, then stamping the linen or canvas background in navy over that. I had to wipe it down as the ink stuck to the embossing, getting all over my hands. The plaid was a challenge as I did it with the old plaidmaker set, where you have four choices of lines and have to line them up. The hearts from Loads of Love are stamped at least 3 times and I masked off the truck and other areas where I'd already stamped the hearts. Everything is colored with either the ink and blender pens or the SU matching markers. I mounted the card onto night of navy and left a bit at the right to be able to punch the slit punch and use that to close the card. I didn't put on the three or more layers of heavy embossing powder to actually crack this but versamarked it twice and added clear EP twice to give it a shine. The tag has the edges a bit distressed by hitting it with an ink spot and dragging the edges. I believe the original inspiration was a card by the incredibly talented Princessink. Her work is just gorgeous. I'll try to add the link to the card that inspired me.
