I had wanted to do a paper piecing with this chef for a while. I cracked open my new pack of Notations paper tonight, so it was the perfect change to paper piece away. I also wanted to do the sponging challenge, and I will admit that Jeanne S' creations with the chef stamp were a big starting point for my card. (I love everything she's created with the Voila set!)
I was planning on doing the sketch 111, but realized that I had cut my chef panel a little short, so I added the Caribbean cardstock. But it still counts if it was the original inspiration, right? ;) I stamped to Canvas bg on it to make it match with the chef's shirt.
I used my round tab punch for the first time (yeah!), used markers, the Stamp-a-ma-jig and a Small Sayings stamp to add a sentiment on it, and I doodled some swirls around the flowers on the right-hand side of my card.
I also paper pieced the chef, colored parts of the stamping with my WW crayons, then masked him to do my sponging and color spritzing. I added Crystal Effects on the buttons to make them shiny and add soime dimension.
I then glued on a stripe of patterned paper, the rickrack and the buttons (and fought the urge to add some floss to them - they seem so bare!).
