I teach at a Christian school and each teacher has mentor groups called advisories. I have about 10 girls. About 20 of us (2 groups) are going to a nursing home tomorrow to make cards with 15 residents. Many hours cutting and stamping to have it ready to be glued, but cannot wait to see the smiles as our 11-12 year-olds help others feel good about themselves. How cool is that! The general idea was CASEd but streamlined to be efficient. I am hopeful they will like them...each resident receives two cards and envelopes.

What a great thing to do for the the elderly. I would like to see our girl scouts do something like this. Maybe after they get done with their shoes for soles, I will suggest it. Have fun and I really like the fun colors on your card!

We visited the nursing home and the residents loved making the cards with the girls! Many of them said that they had sons or daughters coming, and they were so excited that they were able to give them a small gift of a card. Some were not able to communicate well, but they held on to their card when they left! :)
