Ceiling Fan

Ceiling Fan blades left over from Hurricane Ivan.

A friend gave me these to stamp but before I got around to stamping them, hurricane Ivan blew through and destroyed the rest of the fan.

I finally broke down and did something with them.

Traced shape of blade onto paper. Drew curved line to break blade into 2 sections.

Painted all blades with Gesso to prepare them.

Covered one side of blade with paper and using gauze, dabbed ivory Palette ink. Covered opposite side and using gauze again, dabbed with Landscape Palette ink.

Covering the landscape side, I used brown ink to stamp leaves on all blades. I tried to line the images up fairly closely so they would look like they were covered in paper.

When all images were stamped, I colored using water color pencils, then using an aqua brush, blended the colors.

Used an 18K gold leafing pen to define the line between the sides.

Sprayed with clear varnish to seal.

These will hang on the ceiling fan in my living room when my landlord gets the fan up.

5 because it's very time consuming.

I love leaves and this is a great way to keep them overhead year-round!

Thank you. I really love this set of stamps. And the blades just add color when spinning but when they sit still, I'm like "Wow, I did that?" LOL
