Good evening and happy new year! My story is a little long, so here goes . . .
My husband was deployed to Arizona for a year and came hom in November 2005. I was living in the fairytale ending of happily ever after. Unfortnately, that ending wasn't ours . . . after being home for 3 weeks (and everything was great), he moved out and left me a note on the kitchen counter saying he couldn't do this anymore, he messed up and I deserved better. (Yes a note!) Needless to say I was devastated that he wanted a divorce. He didn't want to work on us, didn't want to answer my many questions; it was like he wanted to wipe the slate clean and move on. (We had been married for 6 1/2 years.) He threw in my face an affair he had in AZ, and that he wasn't sorry. In Washington, if both parties are willing, a divorce can be granted in 90 days. All Tony wanted was the divorce and money. All I wanted was a loving and faithful husband; Tony won this one. We drew up the papers and the end of March 2006 we were divorced. So my year was about reflection and being strong and being on my own. It was a year of truly knowing what love is.
I have a great family and lots of friends who not only would make me smile and laugh, but let me cry. I truly believe that life is too short not to be happy. LeeAnn Womack has a song, 'I hope you dance', and there is a line about "Don't let some hell-bent heart leave you bitter" . . . that song says alot, and that line is held dear to my heart.
So my card is about love . . . it is the one true thing in my life. Even without the husband. I believe people do things out of love or fear - I continue to show love everyday. The best part of the divorce is a got the dog, the house, and have no regrets. So life is good . . . very good.
I hope you like the card! Thanks for letting me share. Nikki

It's a lovely card, Nikki and it's so great you can still find love to give. TFS and hopefully 2007 will be the year to move forward in a big way. Take care. Your ex was right about one thing, YOU deserve BETTER!

I am crying now. I know what loss is and what a big one you had. Keep your head up and looking at the stars my friend. Your outlook will get you places you never knew you could go and you are well on your way to a new life and I am sure in time a new love (besides the dog...LOL) I love the card and I am praying for you. My best to you in the year 2007 and as your anniversary date approached know you have people here, too, that care.
