The challenge was to make a New Years resolution to use a stamp or stamping related product that we have had since '06 and had not yet used. This was perfect for me as I had to come up with a sewing themed card for my project of the month! I used the paper punch by Lasting Impressions to make the holes that I did cross stitches in to make my background quilt. I used a co-ordinating DMC floss for the stitching. It was really easy, and I am so glad I finally used it as I like the end result. I put a piece of cardboard under my CS before punching holes, and it worked great! Each of the blocks that are stitched together are 1 1/2" square. This background would work equally as well with any of your small stamp sets to pull them all together, (like bugs, or flowers, etc) and quite frankly, I liked the card even before I added the quilting angel 3D on top... The quilting angel is just precious though! I would usually put UF Prisma Glitter on her wings, but because of the homespun rustic look of the papers and card, I left off the sparklies...

This is a darling card! I've seen something similar with a friendship theme. The cross-stiching brings your sewing theme together and you're absolutely right about the sewing angel.

Sweet card, Tina!! I love the colors you chose. It really brings a sweet gentleness to the scene. I adore your "quilt" background. Looks like it took a lot of extra work and care to place the stitches so evenly! Super card!!!
