The challenge was to do a scrapbook page using the colors of your own country. For me, that is the good ole' USA! The second part of the challenge was to use the kissing tech. So here it is!
The last time my DH deployed I did a scrapbook of our families with messages from each person for him to take with him. I am going to do the same thing this time. This will be the 1st page in the book. It is 6X6 (hope that was o.k. for the challenge) because that size is easier for him to have since he has such limited space when he is over there. The picture is from his homecoming the last time he came home. The word hero is from the set Sassy Sayings. I also used the star from the Holiday Sampler set and kissed it to the Aida Cloth BG stamp. For the background paper I actually combined two pieces. I used a peice of antique looking basic grey and layered it with some star vellum that I had. I am pleased with how this turned out.

Yes its a great page. Sorry your husband has to Deploye. Has he gone to Iraq???? I have two son's one is a Marine the other is in the Army. Both of them went to Iraq at the same time when the war started over there. The son in the Army was there for year that time. The Marine was there for 7 months that time. The second time he was there for 6 months.
I hope and pray that they don't have to go back. But I'm sure that they will if we don't get out of there soon. Good luck to your husband and to you. You can if you would like to email me at [email protected]. If you would like or need some one to talk to. I know how it is when your love one is away. My husband was in the Navy for 30 years and he was away a lot of time's for 6 months to a year at a time. So I have been there and done that so many time's not only with my husband byt with both of my son's.
God Bless

Wow- awesome page, and even more awesome is the story behind it! You are blessed to be married to such a great guy, and he to such an obviously supportive and devoted wife. Thank you for sharing this, as it is really a touching reminder to us of the fact that we need to keep these wonderful Military members and their families in prayer and be so grateful to them for their service to our country!

I don't know him personally, and probably never will, but he is a hero of mine, too. Great page, I'm sure he will treasure it. (wiping away the tears now)
