I am working on cards for a workshop and came up with this one... very simple and needs some work but love opinions and I know my scanner stinks, but its what I have for now
I patted my glossy white down with my emboss buddy, stamped the palm tree in versamark, embossed with the black detail embossing powder, brayered over with the pumpkin patch spectrum pad, let it dry for a few, matted it on a piece of torn cameo coral paper, matted onto the green galore card, and then i stamped thank you from the warmest regards set in whisper white craft ink on my black ribbon on the whol strip, tied in a bow, stuck a glue dot under the bow so it doesn't move. The ribbon is tied on so the inside of the card also has the ribbon wrapped around it and also says thank you

I think that I wouldn't tear the cameo layer, unless I was also tearing the main image & the black organdy is kind of "elegant" I think I would go with a grosgrain. It's kinda like you're pitting a "shabby" look against an "elegant" look on the same card - make sense? I like the brayered colors & the cameo, but you are right that the green isn't right, maybe olive or artichoke would look better?
I hate doing this, cause we all have our own tastes, and these are just changes I would make. HTH

Hi! When I use a brayer to make a background, like you did, 99% of the time I find that that piece needs to have a layer of black under it to make it 'pop' really good. It doesn't need to be a huge amt of black - just a small frame of black makes a difference.
HTH! You've got a good basis for a card here! I love that stamp with brayering behind it! It's like a sunset!
Happy stampin!

to me ,
the green layer needs some postage collage-y and edge distressing
and the palm tree could be higher to allow for a torn bottom.
the whole thing is lovely overall
including the ribbon !
but seems like the accent has 'fallen' or slid down
just needs to be mounted higher imho
then there would be room for another teeny accent in the bottom right corner of the card.
could be a little 'thanks' or 'friend' stamp, even just in versa for interest
or some black hodgepodge or other little brad or accent.
Thank you for asking.
this is so interesting to do!

it's a *great* idea to demo the brayer!
I like the idea of the black mat around your main image.
I'm also thinking that maybe the brayer could run the other direction with green on bottom like grass. maybe I'm too literal. LOL! but the other color looks like a sunset behind the tree to me.
maybe straighten up the main image and run the ribbon along the bottom to "anchor" the main image (to me, it kind of competes rather than compliments).
But you know what...it's so hard to tell in a scan! LOL! all these things might not be issues in real life!
You know what....I've never looked at this stamp set before! it's really neat! can you add some of the other stamps to the card? maybe use a lighter background and do a versamark background? very subtle.
or you could somehow do the three trees really lightly in the lower right hand corner and then overstamp with your Thank You.
Oh, that stamp set looks so fun!
