This snowman set--Garden Snowman--is so old that it doesn't even have its own gallery. I just fell in love with the little birds the first time I ever saw this set.
After Christmas, I was looking through my stuff to see what needed to be used up when I was making my Christmas thank you notes. I found these store-bought thank you cards that I loved when I bought them, but never sent because I bought them about the time I discovered Stampin' Up. I decided to try to make a design around the calligraphy to use them for a homemade card. I LOVE the way it turned out.
I used dimensionals to raise up some of the pieces to give the whole thing a 3 dimensional look--sometimes because the birds were on top of the calligraphy. Also used on snowman's scarf, birdseed bag, & watering can. Then used liquid applique for the snow around the bottom of the snowman and color liquid applique to make the earmuffs dimensional. The water dripping out of the can is made to look like an icicle with crystal effects. Very fun to do, but time consuming--just the kind of project I like on a lazy holiday after Christmas.
