What a fantastic way to recycle cds. I couldn't tell for sure, but did you cut part off the top of the cd's or made the cover larger and squared that off? These would make great "anytime - thinking of you gifts".

Here's the "how-to": I used 2 CD's- one for the front and one for the back. I cut a piece off of each CD to make a flat edge. Then I had my DH drill 3 holes in each. I traced them onto white cs, stamped with plaid background and Petal Prints using Rose Romance, Rose Red, and Mellow Moss. PSX alphabet (on front) and Hero Arts dragonfly (on inside and back) were stamped with Night of Navy. Cut out covers and attach to CDs with double sided tape. A small piece of ribbon is attached between the back cover & the CD and velcro is used to close the book. Punch the holes (already in the CD) through the cs and insert eyelets- navy and Raspberry colors. Attach a post-it notepad to the inside of the top CD with double sided tape. Attach mesh drywall tape and stamped circle and tag to the inside of the back CD. I printed the "notes" and "phone #" pages on the computer, cut to the size I needed, and lightly stamped them. Punch holes thru the top of the pages. Bind it all together with fibers. I thought this would be nice to keep in the car for quick notes and emergency phone numbers.
