I saw a thread about the "new trends" in stamping and it noted one of them as stamping on transparency to overlay an image. I had to try it! I made this as a thank you card from ds for Christmas gifts he received from friends. I thought it turned out cute. I might have to use a similar idea for next years Christmas cards!!

this is so very cute! so the penguins on on the acetate? and then you colored the back, right?? Are the snowflakes on the acetate too?? this is great!!!

Very cute, who can resist those penguins! I like your use of transparency for the snowflake layer, I'll have to give that a try sometime since it's uber cute!

The cardstock base is night of navy, with no coloring (no snow flakes or other stamped images) on it at all. The penguins and the ground they are standing on are all stamped on the same sheet of whisper white cardstock, then I cut around the penguins and sloped down to make it look like a snowhill. The snowflakes are stamped on the transparency, which I adhered with two glue dots in the top two corners, then covered them with the ribbon.

Good for you for trying something new....I always have good intentions but that is where it ends up.....I love this card. You did such a good job. I may have to try this.....see..... see what I mean?
