today was my first official day of no school(yay!). so what did i do?
sit in the optometrist's office all morning while my mother & brother had their check-ups.
and take most of the afternoon to make a card.
no, i don't normally take hours to make one card, but then, i don't normally start without a hint of a plan and make everything up as i go along, either. i just felt like creating, and i sure did take my time!
a few of my favorite details:
the colors; this was the first thing i decided when i started playing. i was going for something bright & cheerful.
the stamp set; it's my first time using it!
the new gelly-roll STARDUST pen; it doesn't pick up too much in the scan, but i used this in the centers of the flowers and a little bit in the empty white spaces in between the flowers. the pen basically spreads on liquid glitter(or, as the company VERY aptly descibes it, stardust); it's really neat! i had SO much fun using it to add that special touch.

I like all the little extra touches - the brad, tag, ribbons...really makes it extra special! Beautiful card. Great colors and layout.
