Everyone is asking for details on my rain gutter ribbon holders. I decided to finally just post a detailed photo.
First of all, let me just say that I love pegboards. They are so versatile, and if you get something up and decide you want to move, it.....no biggie, just move it!
My DH is the creative genius behind the rain gutter design. I knew I wanted them after all of the ribbon storage discussions on SCS and thinking about it for months, this was my desire, he made it work. Gotta love engineers!
So, you can see in the photo, that he drilled the hole just below the first bend in the vinyl. I purchased this gutter at Lowes. They didn't have this type at Home Depot, only the kind with a lip on it and it was too narrow for SU Grosgrain spools. The gutter comes in 10' lengths and I had the guy at Lowes cut it in fourths for me. I purchased 8 end caps and stuck them on. They have little rubber grips and stay on tightly.
Above the gutter, you can see the type of pegboard hook he used. He drilled the hole, stuck the hook through, then bent the hook so that it was up flat against the vinyl. What a great guy!
