Created this variation of the mailbox shown on pg. 17 of the winter mini. Going to make a Christmas version of it and put cookies in it for my local post office employees! Thought it might be cute if I put the zip code on the flag!

This is from an old edition of Better Homes Paper ideas 2003. I've seen a pattern/template here at SCS, but I'll give some loose directions. The dome is 8 1/2x11 so I'd start with that. The base is cut 8 1/2 x5 1/2 then score the long sides at 1". Attach bottom to dome with 4 brads on each side. For the front, I'd trace your dome and use that as a template. For the back(which is the trickiest) trace it again but add 1/2 an inch which you should cut notches around the curved edges then fold it in so you have something to adhere it to the dome. I used the glue stick. Be sure and add an extra 1/2" to the front flap and score so you have a place to adhere it inside too. The flagpole is about 4 1/2 inches tall by 1/2" wide. Hope this makes sense!

OMG...that is tooooo cute!!! I would love to make something like that for my sons Valentines. And my mail carrier has been the sweetest putting up with all my packages I would love to give him something like this with a gift card to Olive Garden (his favorite restaurant). TFS! I'm gonna go ahead and give it a try!
