I felt like drawing my own Christmas design to make cards with, so I came up with this one of the baby Jesus hugging a lamb. I drew it on regular paper, then scanned it, then printed it on watercolor cardstock.
I then played around with different watercolors on it til I was happy. I wanted it to match red and green so I could stick with traditional colors, but in the photo the reds looks pinkish and the green looks blue-ish. The washes are much red-er and green-er IRL!
I also had been wanting to try those rows of pierced paper I've been seeing lately. I actually just used my sewing machine with no thread! It took a bit of practice to make the row straight, however.
The holly and poinsettia were stamped in clear and heat embossed with gold ep. Then watercolored and cut out, and bent to pop out.
I tore the edges of the main image and popped it up with pop dots.
For the tab, I just took a small rectangular piece of green cs and used a small corner rounder punch on to corners.
The white background was stamped with a poinsettia wreath by Majenta in green chalk ink, then lightly sponged with rose and green chalk inks, and distressed along the edges. The long red bg piece was distressed too.
I stamped the background stars (High Hopes) in clear and heat embossed with gold.
