Trying to come up with a series of simple, cute, single-layer cards to add to my Christmas card collection. This is my first one. I need to give this set back to debbiesun soon and thought I'd make some quickies before then. JulieHRR had a neato idea a little while back on her blog for mailing these 4.25" square cards in a regular envie and adding a punch.. I have the perfect snowflake punch for that detail & this card.
First I stamped the snowman on a post-it and cut out the rectangle around him (this is my mask). I then centered my post-it on my square card. Then I stamped my snowflakes all over using the post-it to mask off my center rectangle. Next, leaving the post-it in place, I dry embossed using the post it as my rectangle guide and the edge of one of my brass templates for the embossing. I chose to make my center image "sink" on this card. Stampamajig to place snowman and sentiment. Aquapainter to color in. A little glue & glitter.. done! Does it work?
