Found this pink paper by MM and decided to try to do a tiled look. Cut the paper into 1 inch and 2 inch squares. Then did my lay out to make sure it would all work together.
Then, painted the wooden tray with MM Bordeaux. The color was too light and bright, so I hit it with two layers of the ink/dye from the MM distressing kit (powdered ink that I mixed with water and then brushed onto the tray).
After it dried, I used a ruler and measured out where to put the squares and marked the tray with dots using a black gel pen. Then I used the same MM powdered ink and mixed it into Modge Podge. Used the MP and my markings to set the squares. Plus, the MP (thanks to the ink) gave the squares, that were pretty bright, a distressed look.
Once this dried, I took a stained glass looking stamp (see next picture for a better view of the sides) and stamped it in black Stazon on the sides. I then used double sided tape to attach the olive velvet ribbon to the rim and glued down a MM vintage brad on each corner (cut the backs off with my scissors first).
For the tag, I stippled Rose Red on the SU tag and then stamped the same stained glass stamp in the same color. Then I stamped "Congratulations" in black Stazon. Then did the stained glass technique. I took the RR marker and colored the hole cover and glued it down. Attached the tag with MM ribbon (green) and pink ribbon from OTC.
