I was stumped on LSC82 for much of the day since I don't own many Valentine-ish stamps. But then I opened my weekly sampler email from Dover Publications and here were some vintage playing card images. I saw the King of Hearts and immediately knew what I wanted to do. The hardest part was trying to find a heart that was SMALL enough to fit the twill tape (usually I am trying to find one bigger than what I have).
Distress ink was used on the "Love You" to age the white of the letters to match the aged look of the playing card.
The blue layer has Canvas inked in Tempting Turquiose kissed with Weathered inked in Ruby Red. It didn't turn out quite like I imagined, but it was OK, so I used it.
I let the patterened paper dictate the colors & was surprised to see how it came out: Tempting Turquoise, Ruby Red, and Almost Artichoke.
