I went to yesterday's rubber stamp convention in San Jose, CA where I saw this easy-peasy technique demo'ed at the Judikins booth. If there's a name for it, I haven't the foggiest idea what it would be.
1. Use 3 MicaMagic re-inkers to make 3 small puddles of color on a scrap of non-absorbent 'something' (I used damaged gloss CS).
2. Roll a brayer over the colors to cover your brayer (but do NOT muddy the colors together) then brayer short 'runs' of color on your CS, continously changing the brayer's direction. I brayered onto a matte-coat CS... I expect US would work also.
3. Allow to dry overnight or heat-set the inks.
4. Stamp and emboss images on your background.

I would expect there's a way one could get similar background effects from SU product... maybe using craft re-inkers mixed with luminere.
