I have three kids, 2 girls in high school, 1 son public school. They're all very good student (in the gifted program) BUT they procrastinate! Everyone of them. So this year I got smart myself (hehehe) and bought extra back to school supplies and decorated soup & tuna cans to hold all that they would ever need to do their homework so I won't have to listen to "but I don't have my ______" , "I forgot my ______ at school so I can't do it" Now there's no excuses. The tray makes it easy to put everything on the table and clearing off for dinner is a breeze! Even my 16 year old will sit at the dinning table and do her homework. The 2 'actual pen containers' in the middle with the lids... 1 has candy for them to suck on while working and the other has loose change so when they need money for this or that it's there.
My friend and I made a tray and decorated cans for her home/childcare business.
My two teen daughters are in the process of decorating their's to put their cosmetics & jewlery in.
Hope you find a use for this idea!

Oh yeah there's a total of 6 soup cans, 2 tuna cans and 2 pen containers, 2 rulers tucked along the side, that fit on the tray. I also topped all the cans with ribbon so that I could fold it over to cover any sharp edges (kinda hard to see in the picture)and there's an overflow of ribbons and fibers tied on the handles.

What a great idea! I would love to be able to pack everything up like this and put it all away in the the same place - out of reach! Thanks for sharing it!

What a fantastic idea! I love the idea of keeping them on the tray for easy clean up. This is the sort of thing you would see on one of those organizational shows on hgtv or something : )

This is AWESOME! My 1st grader is very worried about getting homework (he's so funny!) anyway...if he had something like this I think it would make it so much fun for him! What a great idea to put it in a tray to make it easy to move!! You are a genius!
Off to Wally World for all the supplies after DD wakes up!
