My DH gave me this really cool set of plain journals and I decided to make myself a Christmas book to keep myself organized this year with cards, shopping, and receipts. Do you think this would make a cool gift as just a covered, monogrammed notebook?
The book is covered in Holiday Thyme paper. I created some raised images by using layers of the cardboard backing found in the SU paper packages. (It's the poor woman's chipboard. LOL!) The burgundy edge is raised with layered cardboard, as is the monogram J. Both were covered with the paper and then trimmed to fit. I added a chipboard circle to make a small letter "J". I also used the paper to make two pockets on the inside cover to hold receipts. The burgundy ribbon ties the book closed.

I love this as a Christmas journal/organizer! Great idea! Love that "poor woman's chipboard" too! LOL. I just might have to get that Holiday paper after all.
