I made this card for my friend's son who was leaving for Iraq. This is his first mission and I wanted to let him know that my colleagues and I support him and wish him a safe return home.
I wanted to make a card with a U.S. flag on it but I didn't have a stamp of one. I made this in its place. I wanted the flag to look like it was old and weathered but still doing its job. So I made the flag by using the Linen Technique and really rubbing off some of the ink with the sponge. Ouy of all my cards, I think I love this one the most because of why I made it.
