I made “baby’s first year” scrapbooks for two friends of mine last year and I’m just now getting around to posting the pictures. Each month has a two-page layout done in seasonal colors and each one has a space for a 5x7 photo and several smaller ones. I wrote the sizes for the pictures on the mats so the new moms would be able to tell what size pictures they’d need to put in each place. I also left space for journaling (the white block). Titles for each month were done with a Sizzix machine.
This is my husbandÂ’s favorite out of the whole book, and I really liked how it came out too. The Not Quite Navy borders are torn (I do a lot of torn borders, I realized as I made this book) and I did split torn mats on the right hand page. I cut out my photo mats in both Real Red and Not Quite Navy like I would for a regular picture (I think these were for 3.5x5 pictures, so a quarter inch bigger than that to make a mat), and then I adhered the red ones where I wanted the pictures to go. I placed the NQN ones on top and put little pencil tick marks on the top and bottom so I could make the tear line up with the one for the border, tore it, and then stuck the NQN piece on top of the Real Red piece. Looks really cool when you put a picture in the space so the mat is different colors. 5x7 photo space is on the left, journaling space is on the right.

You've made some wonderful pages--this set happens to be my favs. Sorry I didn't take the time to comment on all of them. SCS was acting up on me last night and I kept getting error messages.
Anyway--just wanted to let you know you do wonderful work and I appreciate your willingness to share.
