The background of this card was made using the watercolor background technique. Actually I don't know if that's what it's called but that's what I call it and I kind of just did it and I'm not sure if it's right or not but I love the results.
First soak a piece of paper (whisper white) in water until it's fully saturated. Then take ink refils and drop a drop of the colors you want and swirl them around (oh, be sure to pull the paper up and out of the water first.) Then set it on a paper towel and let dry. If they are really curled up after they dry I usually just iron them. You can also salt it while it's still wet. It makes a neat effect and you can sprinkle bleach on it which also has a neat effect.
