I was asked to make a retirement card for my boss to be signed at his retirement party. This card was commissioned and it was requested that I incorporate a sailboat (he's an avid sailor and his boat is the GRAND BRUIT) and the expression "fair winds and following seas". I used my colour printer to print this expression in wave shapes for a background. I used the brocade blue colour setting to coordinate with the paper. Thanks to QBee for the RGB codes! This was my first attempt at digital card making. It's a larger card than I'm used to making, so it was a bit tricky to come up with a layout.
I hope he likes it!

Given all the requests, I think you did a fabulous job! Very clever using the expression for the bg and also putting the name of his boat on the card! I'm sure he will love this card!!!

I absolutely love it! You captured the still life perfectly and the color of the water is just amazing! He'll be honored that you hand-made this special card for him. TFS

This is just a stunning card -- I love the sailboat image :-) -- and the Winter Sky combo was perfect for the water/sky. How clever to curve the background words like waves! Totally wonderful, and unique and personal too. No wonder your boss liked it!
