One of my friends had surgery last week so I wanted to make her a get-well card. I found this sketch in the sketch challenges so I thought hey, I'll try that. The color scheme actually came about because my DH took me to lunch at Applebee's--they handed us a couple of plates for the appetizer, one was dark red and the other sage green. This will work much better when I get my Cranberry Crisp ink and paper (Hurry up, Brown!!) but for now this works.
I stamped the butterfly on Very Vanilla with Almost Amethyst craft ink, then embossed with Iridescent Ice. I LOVE Iridescent Ice!! I watercolored a little amethyst on the butterfly to fill it in a bit. I had ISSUES with my backgrounds...first I did the Script stamp in Regal Rose ink but that was too dark, so I tried Versamark but couldn't see it...I had to do it five times before I got it to work by stamping it off once in Regal Rose. Then I did the Filigree (my favorite background!!) in Versamark on the Rose Red piece.
