Thank you Jen for directing us to Josh's courageous act and quick thinking that definitely warrants celebrating. Hopefully this card still strikes a masculine chord with the hits of pink in there. The paper looked like cells so it fit in beautifully with the theme, for me anyway, lol. The tree put me in mind of a tree of life, even though it has no leaves. Life is fragile and ever changing and cycling. Inside reads Ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
The card is one piece of A2 card with dsp down each side and a small card attached between th strips. I saw it yesterday on FB and wanted to give it a try. It started with the heart, which started with throwing down a bunch of reds onto a wet piece of watercolour paper. When it dried, I cut the heart from it, sponged on some distress inks, and embossed.

Just a fabulous card and I like the reason you used the trees...life sure is fragile. The strip sides look great and I love the heart. Behind the heart is just awesome. A grand card for Josh!!!

It is beautiful paper in the background, but it's that wonderful skeleton tree that really grabs my eye. And I love the texture you added to the heart. I'm thinking I might have made a similar type of card, don't have time to check just now, though...If not, I'll make a note for an upcoming TLC ;-). It's a nice way of featuring the sentiment inside and getting double value from the DP.
