 | | Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has given us the makings of a great color blend: Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock, along with Wild Wheat. The dessert option is Anything Goes, so I added Crushed Curry as a fourth color. I also used Mossy Meadow, which is a permitted neutral.
I used the beautiful Ruffled Blooms stencil and embossing folder set from GinaK for my card. This is the second time I've used this set; but this time I stenciled first and then embossed, which is the sequence I prefer. It was a little tricky to find the ideal "sandwich" for my machine, but eventually I found a combo that worked. I love how Karen's very similar blue shades worked so well to give the petals just the right amount of color variation. I added a bit of Mossy Meadow to give some depth to the leaves and stems, and Crushed Curry as the accent color.
I sponged the edges of the layer with Lost Lagoon, and white embossed the sentiment on Lost Lagoon cardstock, added a few enamel dots, and called it good!
This color combo produces some unexpected, but beautiful, results. Give it a try and share your creation in the Gallery this week!
