Amy has linked us up to Miss Jophiel for inspiration.
I looked and looked at those dresses and was only inspired to lose weight so I could order one. Seriously.
Then I just went back to the home page and scrolled down telling myself I had to pick one. Luckily, there was a review at the bottom by Chas S on 4/28/24 with a picture of the girl wearing one of the dresses and she was standing in front of a very cool doorway. I let that doorway be my inspiration. After I drew and painted it up, it screamed Christmas, so I went with it.

scroll toward the bottom and the review should be on the third row in the middle

Beautiful! So much fun to hear about what inspired you. :-) Your drawing is fabulous as is the painting. Love the falling snow (and especially the thought that it is months away). Great Christmas card!
What a lovely card, Nancy! I love your inspiration process! I really had to laugh at your comment about only being inspired to lose weight, after looking at the dresses! Your talent with drawing amazing scenes is far more important than fitting in a size 4 dress! Have a great weekend!

This is such a neat card, and I can't believe you actually sketched in ALL those tiny bricks. Really, your card could just as easily have screamed spring with the greenery BUT adding the falling snow-tex sure made it christmas in a "flurry".

I had the same reaction as you did when I looked at all those gorgeous dresses and how lovely they looked on the models, Nancy. I'm amazed that you found that partially obscured doorway in the background and made it come to life with your wonderful painting. I love how you painted the bricks and moss around the door. It was fun discovering the subtle elements like the lantern and the plant. Your technique is so organic and flowy, as it is with all talented water colorists. Stunning!!!

The part that had my eye brows raise and me chuckling in my coffee mug was the young woman modeling the "mother of the bride" gowns. (not that I have a daughter but, I did look at all the boards lol) I love this, esp. the snow falling in this scene Nancy.
