My nephew Diarmuid turns five this month and has been obsessed with turtles for several years. I had some sea turtle wooden cutouts and a happy birthday sentiment from Dollar Tree so decided to use these for his card. I used a curvy border die to cut a scrap of pattern paper for the sea background and attached to the card base.
I squished the sentiment and turtle pieces into my Versamark pad and heat embossed using sea foam embossing powder. Then I was reminded why I have not used this powder. It does not give good coverage and was barely visible. But I tried inking the pieces again and adding another layer of powder and heating again and it did the trick. It came out with a lovely metallic sheen that looks really cool. Nothing like figuring out how to use a craft supply a decade after buying it.
I had some old magnet tape - a roll of magnet strip with adhesive on the back - so I cut two pieces of it and attached to the back of the turtles and used just a tiny bit of adhesive roller on the backs to attach lightly to the card, so the turtles can be detatched and used as magnets.
