I could do so many cards with eye glass images. I guess I sort of collect them, since I've worn glasses most of my life. I just went to see my new optometrist last week. My SIL's Dad is an optometrist. Thank you, Mr. Franklin!
I have vivid memories of sitting in eye doctor offices, even at the age of 2. Room was dark, posters of the letters in front of me, no idea how to answer. Boxes and boxes of little lenses that I wanted to play with. One eye surgeon had an office on Lake Michigan, had a big sail fish on the wall and I could barely look out the window at the lake if it was a sunny day. No more dilation since eye doctors now have all sorts of fancy equipment. Yay! I had surgeries at 2 and 8, have cataracts but because I only have one eye that works well, the eye doctor wants me to delay the cataract surgery as long as I can. As with all surgeries, there is a small percentage that things could go wrong. As long as I can function, I'm good. I have no depth perception whatsoever so night driving is out for me. I always laugh when they ask if I can read the top letter, even if my good eye is covered...isn't it always E??? I asked the doctor why it's always E; it's because of the two directions the lines go and no curves. She said no one has ever asked that of her before. I've looked at that E my whole life.
This was fun, as I said, I could do many more!

Cool collection of images - and some glasses as fun and funky as Polly's. I was sure some of those would be Club Scrap.
Ha, I don't think I'd ever realised the top was always E. 2, that's young!! I think I was about 5 or 6 when I had my first test. I always think it must be very hard to correctly evaluate a younger child. Because of the damage done by oxygen in the incubator, my nephew needed them from the get-go.

I dunno which is better, the card or the story! Glad to see and read both! As a nearsighted glasses wearer since 2nd grade, I salute you! My Honey is farsighted and we always joke that we make an out-a-sight team, lol. xox
