Welcome to CC1000! This is the 1,000th Color Challenge on SCS! What a milestone, and how grateful I am to be a part of it. For this week, each team member is revisiting her favorite color combo between CC901 and CC999. I chose CC983, both because it was a favorite of mine and also because it seemed to be popular among our players. So here's another chance to create with some warm, summery colors: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green, with the dessert option of Sunflowers.
For my original CC983 card and for this one, too, I used my Create-in-Quads Sunflower Party set. These stencil sets are designed so that you use four colors with four 8-1/2 x 11 stencils. When your four layers are complete, you have four different designs, one in each quadrant of your sheet of cardstock. They are quite fun to play with, and with little effort you end up with four cards!
I selected this sunflower design, sponged Granny Apple Green on the edges, then splattered with Ground Espresso DO ink, and mounted on a Granny Apple Green card base. I stamped the greeting in Granny Apple Green ink and cut it out with the matching die. Added a few gems, and it was done!
Please join us in our celebration this week. Each of our hostesses is offering a prize for her favorite card that uses her challenge colors! See you in the Gallery!

Hey, we are neighbors and our designs are quite similar! Love what you've done with these colors, Barbara! Beautiful sponging, splattering and stenciling too! Love these pretty sunflowers and their little blooms in the back~

This is so bright and vibrant! I like the inked sides and the flecks; it adds an earthy feel that is perfect for the sunflowers. Wonderful card Barbara!
