I found this technique to be quite tedious. Initially, I made my die cuts too small, which would have been cool if I had stuck with it, but I ended up going back to the Cricut and recut the card suits in a larger size. The end result was definitely worth the effort, though.
I used a Cricut machine to create the card suits. The poker chip was cut using a die and then backed with white paper. Overall, I think this technique makes for some cool-looking cards!

I did say not to use too small die-cuts ;-). I abandoned the first flower ones I thought of before I even started. I'm sure you can repurpose the smaller ones for something else. The card suits work brilliantly, and being able to lay them out geometrically I think must have been much easier than my messing around with flowers.
