A quick note before I get to this week's colors and my card.
This is my last week as a member of the design team for the Color Challenge. Playing with colors is what drew me to stamping in the first place and every week has been a joy to create with all of you in this gallery. Working with all of the talented designers on this team has truly been a blessing. Thank you all! I'll still be around and joining in when I can. And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming:
Mary is our host this week and she has chosen Pecan Pie, Calypso Coral and Boho Blue. Dessert is Designer paper.
I did a blog post last week about Glorious Gingham DSP which is "retiring" tomorrow. I love this paper but as I was going through all of the cards I've made with it I found that I had only used the diagonal check page and not the traditional little gingham pattern. One of the colors that it comes in is Pecan Pie so it seemed a no brainer to put it together with the Country Birdhouse Bundle. I added some Mossy Meadow (neutrals) for the foliage and couldn't resist the scalloped layer. I had been wondering if it would work to use just a partial image for the birdhouse and it did! This let me use a scalloped rectangle that allowed plenty of room to show off the gingham and still have room for a greeting.
Thank you for taking a peek and for all the love over the past 5 years I've been on the DT. Now let's see what you will do with these colors!

Fabulous! Love how you focused on the Pecan Pie because it makes the blue & coral really pop. The partial birdhouse is brilliant. I always love a gingham. Beautiful card. We will miss you on the design team, Chris. Glad to see you in the gallery this evening and look forward to when you can join us now and again. Thank you for all the wonderful inspiration! Best to you & your family. Hugs!

Such a wonderful card Chris! I had actually planned on using this set but at the last minute changed my mind. The partial birdhouse works really well on the scalloped panel and the gingham is perfect for a "country" feel.

What a Beauty, Chris! The gingham adds to the country charm of this card. I really like the flowers & foliage, making this feminine and pretty. Thank you for your dedication to the color team, and as Jen said, "Your cards are truly inspirational" and I agree~

Sad to see you leaving the color challenge DT, Chris ~ I always love your creations. This is a stamp bundle I've been looking at and your delightful card may have pushed me over the edge : ) I love the neutral shade of the gingham background; it goes perfectly with the nature theme. That birdhouse and little bird are very sweet and it DOES look great to only show part of the house. Love the stitched scalloped panel and the linen thread finishing this up perfectlyl.

Chris, you've made this week's colors sing! I love the way you offset the birdhouse on the scalloped layer, and the use of the gingham in the background. It has the perfect, homey feel to go with the birdhouse. I'm really gonna miss having you on the team; your cards are so inspiring and beautiful!
