I was inspired by a recent Kristina Werner video. I used a solid circle stamp for the balloons but only inked the edges. Then I used some water to bring the colors in. Drew on my strings, computer generated some words, diecut the happy birthday and the 60 out of gold cs.
April 29, 1964 was a momentous day in my life. My baby sister was born that day and she will be 60 this year. I was almost 12 when she was born. I even shared a room with her for a time, which was not too great for me. I was a built-in baby sitter. As she got older, we shared a pretty special bond and now the age difference doesn't matter. One of my favorite memories is her singing What the World Needs Now with me playing piano behind her. So I want the world to know that Janet Lynn Meyer Hickle is nifty sixty very soon. I know, it's supposed to be nifty fifty but I couldn't think of a word that worked with sixty. Sexy sixty is not who my sister is. Thanks for the challenges!

This is such a fun and colorful card! I love the way you did the balloons and the fun sentiment. My mother was 12 years old when her youngest brother came along and she was definitely a caregiver for him to help her mom! They also shared a very close relationship.

Great balloons, Jean! They make such a fun birthday card especially with your fun words too. This screams celebration. Hugz

Love this birthday card and your story! Those translucent balloons look amazing! My sister is only 5 years younger than me and I remember tormenting her somewhat when forced to babysit. We are now great friends and travelling companions and our children are close as well. Sisters rule!
