I ran across a card I made in 2020 CASEing Mary Deatherage's Forever Blossoms posted 4/12/20, and I decided I wanted to do another one in different colors.
I used Masking paper to cut a piece one eighth inch smaller than my white cardstock. I die cut a piece out of the center, and then brushed in color - Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon. I didn't realize that the pin holes were large enough for color to get through - makes for a real subtle detail.
I stamped the image over that with Pebbled Path, added the sentiment, and layered on a piece of Lost Lagoon. The base is Pebbled Path, and I used Iridescent Rhinestones.

At first glance, I didn't realize that the top is all one layer. I think the tiny pin holes make it look like the center is cut right out of the white layer and we are seeing the peacock color from the layer beneath. Until I read your description! Wow! Nice job.
