This is for Theresa, who has a very sad story and is going through difficult times right now.
To create the image, I stamped it twice, cut one of them out, and used it as a mask while blending the colors. Most of the image starts with DO black and gradually transitions to grey, lost shadow, until it reaches the dawn and continues.
The sentiment on the card reads, 'Brief is life but love is long.'
I love the look of heat embossing, but it can be quite a bit of extra work, and I'm pretty messy with it.
Finally, I added a short note of support to the card.
I cannot begin to imagine what Theresa is going through, and I never hope to understand it fully. I only hope that these cards can offer some comfort in her time of need.

Wow, Brian, this is so sweet and so true. Love your sky colors and that super fab image. The words reflect the image so well. Theresa will love this. Hugz

Brian, I love your card, it brought tears to my eyes, because I'm left with the memory of what was. The best way I can explain grief to you is like someone took your heart out, stabbed it a 100 times and put it back and left you to cope with what was left, not once but twice. Your card is very beautiful, the trees and the couple walking together for the last time in the sunset. I will remember this always.

Once again you have captured and presented us with a powerful image. The dark fading to the light and the spotlight on the scene are perfect for expressing the situation as are the rainy image and sentiment you selected. I can see why this touched MaryJo so deeply and I have no doubt will do the same to Teresa. Fabulous card, Brian.

Love this card! Great scene and textured bg paper. Heat embossing is one of my favourite techniques to use but can be a bit tricky. Keep at it and you'll figure out a few tricks and become a pro. I find that coloured ink with clear powder is less finicky than coloured powders. I also use a very fine brush to clean up the stray powder.

What a lovely image. I'm thinking of using a card I made with a similar stamp when it comes to my sister's first anniversary without her DH in June. I love the warmth of the sunrise/set that they are walking towards through the soft greys.
Even just stamping on that textured card would be hard enough, never mind embossing. I'm always looking for extra-smooth watercolour paper because it's easier to emboss on, although then I lose out on the more textured watercolour paper look.

Your card for Theresa is not only visually stunning but also carries a heartfelt message of support and love. The careful blending of colors to create the transition from darkness to dawn is incredibly poignant, and the sentiment you've chosen is deeply touching. Your gesture of sending these cards to offer comfort during her difficult times speaks volumes about your kindness and empathy.
