For the Color Challenge hosted by Karen. She selected Poppy Parade, Cherry Cobbler, Lemon Lime Twist with plaid for dessert.
The two reds inspired me to think about two-step stamping. I had already been thinking of getting out this stamp set and die set for fun. Perfect time to do so. I stamped the flower base in Poppy and the details in Cherry. Die-cut the flowers and stems.
Then I created my own plaid, or should I say, enhanced one. I stamped the Buffalo check background stamp in Poppy Parade. Then using my trusted T square ruler, I drew lines with Cherry Cobbler & Lemon Lime Twist blends markers to create a plaid design. I ended up cutting the panel into two sections. In doing so, I was able to make two cards for one plaid.
Using Cherry Cobbler embossing powder (retired), I heat embossed two different sentiments from the stamp set and then die-cut. The sentiment strips and flower heads are popped up. I bent the flower petals up a little for dimension. To embellish, I added rhinestones in the flower center, along with some Wink of Stella and Lemon Lime Twist sequins. Fun cards to make.
We hope you will explore your creativity and join in with the Color Challenge! TFL

You are so clever to have created this plaid combination with this week's colors! And to be able to create two cards with the one panel. Love the fowers, and the two different greetings on the two cards. You overachiever, you!

Beautiful plaid for your pretty bloom, Diane! I like how you concentrated on the reds and then used the green sequins to bring in the green leaves and stripes. Very pretty cards~
