This is my sample for CC994. Karen is our hostess, and she chose poppy parade, cherry cobbler and lemon-lime twist for her color trio. Dessert option this week is plaid. I added a 2" strip to the card inside. It's from the Stampin' Up "festive farmhouse" collection.
I thought these colors called for Christmas and I had the perfect stencil. I bought this Vintage Santa stencil last year from The Ton Stamps but didn't get to use it last Christmas.
This layering stencil has 6 different layers including one to color your background which I did with lemon-lime twist ink.
I used poppy parade for my first layer and cherry cobbler for the 2nd layer for Santa's suit and gloves. Part of Santa's beard is blended with smoky slate ink. I used a flesh ink for his face.
Stamped my sentiment and added some cherry cobbler enamel dots to complete my card.
I hope you can play along with us this week. Karen has chosen some great colors for your card making designs. Can't wait to see what shows up in the gallery.

I see you and I had the same inclination, to use these colors for Christmas. I love your Santa--reminds me of the Coca-Cola Santa--so traditional and heartwarming. Aren't stencils fun?!?!

...and laying a finger aside of his nose. That's what I thought when I saw this beautiful Santa, Mary. How fun that you got to use it early in the year, since it didn't work out last Christmas. Beautiful use of these colors~

I would never have thought of these colors as being a "Santa" card, but you have shown that they work beautifully for a Christmas card, Mary. Great idea to start working on that holiday's stash.
