This week's Tea Party guest, Katelyn, needs some Teapotter cheer as she battles some serious health problems. Our hostess asked us to fill her home with Spring. Katelyn also loves Shabby Chic which for me means: lots of white, a bit of distress, pinks, roses and lace. Even though I have those elements here, I didn't quite hit the Shabby Chic mark. But with the pink, I did manage Spring colors. And, I really do like how this turned out.
I started my card by randomly swiping DOX on the inside of the EF. I wanted it hit and misss to look a bit distressed. It shows up better IRL than in the photo. The lacy frame was die cut and inked direct to paper with the same DOX. The rest are die cuts that were colored with COPICs. I didn't know the card needed a butterfly til I added it and it really finished it off nicely for me...and it's a butterfly...win/win.
I hope Katelyn will be cheered and encouraged by all the lovely cards headed her way. And I hope you all are experiencing a beautiful day -- whether it's Spring or Winter, I hope it's beautiful. TFL

Beautiful! Your copic coloring/shading on the flowers and the design are fabulous. The EF in the BG is a perfect foil for this gem. The butterfly is the perfect touch...

Beautiful card! Those die cuts are so pretty and you did a wonderful job coloring them. You're right, the butterfly really is the perfect finishing touch.

Debbie, what a beautifully designed shabby chic card! Your design is perfectly balanced. Love the subtle shading on your embossed background, the soft lace panel and your exquisite blossoms ... and yes your sweet butterfly is just the perfect addition!

I'm so bad at shabby chic I won't even try anymore. Your card certainly is chic, Debbie. Gorgeous floral die cuts (I still can't believe how many gorgeous spring die cuts are in this gallery!) and I love that embossed background. A truly fabulous card as always!

Oh my this is absolutely beautiful. I love the texture for the base, I love the die cuts you used and all the work that went in to cutting, layering and laying this out really paid off. Very lovely card.

What a wonderful Spring feel. The crisp embossing is beautiful and those roses are gorgeous. I was going to say peonies afteruch looking and considering the roundness of the bud, but we'll go with roses. The butterfly is a perfect finishing touch.
