My destination this week is MO. The state dessert is ice cream from the 1904 World's Fair held in St. Louis. They created the waffle cone to hold the ice cream, creating a new treat. In central MO, the ice cream of choice when going out is Central Dairy in Jefferson City. It is a 50's ice cream shop experience with wooden booths and cases of ice cream to select your flavors from. My cone doesn't do justice to what can be ordered there, but it brings the memories flooding back of where we used to go on a hot day and enjoy an outing.

That looks like a fabulous ice cream cone and waffle cones are so tasty. Old fashioned ice cream places make me think of licorice ice cream - definitely a flavor that you either love or hate...I love it!

Who doesn't like an ice cream like this - stacked up like this one. Too cold here today for ice cream - Autumn looks like it might have arrived with a huge drop in temperature from yesterday. I will just admire this card instead.
