I'm excited to share that I made my first card after months of not crafting. The card was not for the daily challenge, as I made the card first, but luckily the challenge gives me an excuse to post as it meets the criteria for the daily challenge.
Let me warn you that this card is emotional. It is inspired by an iconically dark episode of the tv series, The Walking Dead. If you haven't seen it, I wouldn't recommend watching it, as it can be a lot much. But if you're familiar with the episode, I think you'll be impressed by the card's impact. To me, this is an unsettling, effective card, to the extent that I am hesitant to post it, but I'm amazed at the storytelling emotion that this portrays.
To create the image, I used midjourney and added splatter effects with distress oxide sprays to make it more dramatic. I also darkened the edges with Black Soot to add some more depth.
To be honest, I was initially intimidated by the idea of making a card again. I went for something that's not very technically challenging. I felt very discombobulated as i looked around the house for where i put the glue, only to find out that it had dried up in the nozzle.
On another note, I've been busy with casino dealer school since the start of the year. It's been intense and requires constant practice, which explains my absence from crafting and life. But I'm excited to share that my hard work has paid off, and I've been hired at Live! Casino in Baltimore. I'm starting in a couple of weeks, and I'm hopeful that I'll be able to return to a more relaxed schedule soon.

Brian, so great to see you back! Your card is remarkable. I haven't watched The Walking Dead. Your card really sparked a lot of emotion in me. I feel it acknowledges that women often bear the brunt of violence around the world and that should be seen. TFS

Stunning, My DH and I have seen all the episodes so YES this has a big impact!! I'm not fond of horror films and zombie but I must admit I loved to watch this. My favorite is Daryl, I missed your cards in the gallery and I'm glad you've got a very good reason for your absence, I wish you good luck!!

Amazingly dramatic card. I haven't watched the series, the bodies and blood in Silent Witness is enough for me. Your card does seem very impactful on this day as statistics about violence to women are scary. Welcome back to card making and hoping the job works out well

YOu have been missed. What an emotionally charged card. The series is a favorite with our grown kids, but not us. Good luck in your new venture, and I hope it will give you time to join us again!

1. Welcome back, I missed you
2. Congrats, that is exciting and I am wishing you much success
3. Never watched the show but I know the storyline and your card is intriguing - but not unsettling to me because I was about nine when I first fired Dad’s .410

I've been wondering where you've been. Good luck in your new job. I also recently went back to work in the OR - work sure makes a dent in
crafting time!!! I've never seen this show, and, yes this is a little disturbing, but excellent work. Craft when you can.

Wow, just wow! I don't think I have seen this episode so I am glad you didn't tell us any more about it. My son and I used to watch the show, then he found the love of his life and I don't have a Walking Dead buddy anymore. When we stopped watching, it was an intense season so...I am currently struggling to try again. By myself. Thanks so much for posting this stunning work of art. We miss your art here at SCS but sounds like you have been away for a very good reason. Wishing you all the best in your endeavor and hoping to see you more often in the galleries once things become more routine!

Yay, you are back! I watched the show early on but lost interest when the story lines became more complex, and I felt lost just catching it now and then. I like the story concept and special effects though. This scene is dramatic and your special touches add to drama.
Congrats on your new adventure. You will be awesome. Wish I lived close by so I could go see you in person.

I am not a watcher of the show but I can see the emotion of this scene. I like how you added the black soot ink around the edges..that always adds a dramatic effect.
It's good to hear from you and learn about your new career path...good luck. I hope you'll have time to post more cards when time allows. You've been missed Brian.

I too have not watched the series, too unsettling for me, but your picture says is all. Congratulations on your new career - good on you. I hope we see you around the gallery when you get settled.
