Thanks for stopping by to see my card for the latest Mix-Ability challenge, MIX580: Wisps of Color!
I was in the mood to try something a little more airy and magical because for me it's time to be out of the darkest months of the year in the USA. Hurray for more sunlight.
I had a new set of die cuts from Spellbinders that I just couldn't wait to play with so they found their way into our challenge! I decided to cut watercolor paper then wisp some watercolors on the shapes. I wasn't sure about how much I needed and I'm sure I could have added more and fussed with the placement forever, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I used a black watercolor marker on my glass mat and a water-loaded paintbrush to create the spatters on the oval background and then I decided to add wisps of metallic watercolor on the flowers and leaves. The background is an acrylic monoprint that I ran through an embossing folder then brushed metallic watercolor over it for highlights. The card needed something more magical so I added sequins and confetti one.by.one.
I hope you stop by the challenge and play along with us this week.

That is certainly beautifully light and airy. And the background is gorgeous too with the hint of metallic sheen. I have to go out for the day so I'm not sure I'll find time to play :-(.
Magical! This is lovely!! I find light and airy difficult to do. You've accomplished this masterfully! Also love those stylish ovals. They make a nice backdrop to your beautiful florals.
