This card is for the Alpha I Challenge and also for the Ways To Use It Challenge to create an aperture card.
I originally thought of India for my location and as I have taken up meditation recently I thought these chipboards were appropriate. I have quite a few chipboards relating to yoga and India and never seem to find the right moment to use them.
I also love this large BG stamp, which again I forget I have but it also reminded me of India. It was whilst I was trying to figure out what to do that I remembered I had a pack of aperture cardstock and had never opened the packet. I stamped my image and thought it would look nice looking through the opening.
I did mess up after stamping the image. It is a tricky stamp, and even when using my Misti I could not get a great stamp image. This was my second attempt. I wanted to add some colours which remind me of India and started with watercolours but they ran. Doh! This was when I decided to colour the image using my sparkly paints. The shine is so pretty IRL.
Still not entirely happy with it, I decided to doodle around part of the image. It does make it pop but was messy but crafting and me are messy LOL. Next time I have a plan to stamp with my dark black ink only.
Thick acetate added to the opening of the CS, chipboards and bling added and phew done.
TFL. Happy day

It's a great looking stamp, I'm sorry it was fiddly to get a good image. I would always go for heat-embossing if planning to watercolour a detailed image, but that's probably tricky if it was fiddly to stamp! However, I would say that any difficulties you had colouring it, which are not obvious, only add the impression of block-printed fabric, and it looks good to me!

I agree with Sabrina that I would never had known you had trouble with that stamp. It looks totally great for the purpose. I meditated for years when in school and credit it with helping me get through. Love your card!

You are too funny....but you are darn creative too!! I love this! My daughter and her boyfriend, now husband, spent 3 months in India, teaching English to little boys who would become monks. They were there when that tsunami happened, but weren't near it, thank goodness.

I think you are so creative with your sparkly paint that totally took care of whatever the issues where with the water color. Great design!

This is lovely, Jayne! That mandala is beautiful and I love how you added color though it sounds like it was quite the journey. You can't tell from your lovely finished card though. I also like your placement of the red gem, perfect finishing touch!
