This is my second card for the Color Challenge that I am hosting. My colors are: Poppy Parade, Lost Lagoon, Copper Clay. The dessert option is to add a fourth color.
With a last name of Carpenter, this was a bundle I had to purchase for my collection. It is retired now but I still use it for fun. I stamped and die-cut the tools. I colored with Granite Gray blends markers for the metal part of the tools. I colored the handles with Blends or Stampin Write markers. I did give the hammer a little red along with the Copper Clay handle so that each of the colors would be on the tools. I had to substitute Bermuda Bay blends markers for the Lost Lagoon. (I thought I had bought that color).
The measuring tape was cut off the DSP. The washi tape strips were die-cut from solid areas of the DSP.
I made this card for my DH, too. The sentiment is perfect for us. We met for the first time in our college parking lot. He rescued me from a BIG bug that had gotten into my car. I liked him the first time I saw him.
I hope you will work on something creative with these colors and have fun. TFL

Diane, you've made two great masculine cards. We always fret about them, but the paper and stamps make it easy to make great guy cards. I love the individual tool shapes on this one, and the way you've colored them so that all the colors are present!

I love this card as well. Tools are so perfect for masculine cards and having the last name of Carpenter- why would you not buy this set. The story of how you met is so sweet.
